How Can One Go Astray Through the Quran?

That is, through the Quran, Allah Almighty protects people from incorrect ways of thinking, wrong inclinations, and false beliefs, and leads them towards the light of the straight path, provided that a person seeks guidance from the Quran with a sound heart and correct intellect. But whoever tries to extract from the Quran support for his already established false beliefs and doctrines, or seeks arguments from the Quran in pursuit of his own desires, then such a person becomes misguided by this very Quran.
[44] The word "light" has been used in the singular, while the word "darknesses" has been used in the plural, because the types of misguidance and deviations are countless, whereas the path of guidance can only be one. By Allah's permission, the Quran shows the way to this guidance and serves as a beacon.
