Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 5) ➊ {لِّيُدْخِلَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ … :} The clearest and most authentic statement is that the “lam” of {’’ لِيُدْخِلَ ‘‘} is related to {’’ هُوَ الَّذِيْۤ اَنْزَلَ السَّكِيْنَةَ ‘‘}. The meaning is: “He is the One Who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, so that they may increase in faith along with their faith (and) so that, through this tranquility and increase in faith, Allah may admit believing men and believing women into gardens beneath which rivers flow.”

{ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ:} The mention of believing women specifically here is so that the reward of jihad is not considered exclusive to men, because believing women also participate in jihad. They do not become an obstacle for their brothers, husbands, sons, fathers, and other relatives going out for jihad; rather, they encourage them, endure loneliness and other hardships in their absence, and show patience in case of their martyrdom, becoming widows and their children becoming orphans. Many of them go with the army to cook food, wash clothes, clean, and perform other services. In case of battle, they provide water to the fighters, bandage the wounded, and take care of the sick. (Ibn Ashur)

{ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ …:} The admittance into gardens here refers to the special entry that is exclusive to the mujahideen, not the entry that is attained merely through faith and righteous deeds. That is why it is also stated: « وَ يُكَفِّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّاٰتِهِمْ » “and so that He may remove from them their misdeeds.” (Ibn Ashur) It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ إِنَّ فِی الْجَنَّةِ مِائَةَ دَرَجَةٍ أَعَدَّهَا اللّٰهُ لِلْمُجَاهِدِيْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ مَا بَيْنَ الدَّرَجَتَيْنِ كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُ اللّٰهَ فَاسْأَلُوْهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ فَإِنَّهُ أَوْسَطُ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَعْلَی الْجَنَّةِ أُرَاهُ قَالَ وَ فَوْقَهُ عَرْشُ الرَّحْمٰنِ، وَمِنْهُ تَفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ ] [بخاري، الجھاد والسیر، باب درجات المجاہدین في سبیل اللّٰہ : ۲۷۹۰ ] “In Paradise there are one hundred levels which Allah has prepared for those who strive in His cause; the distance between each two levels is like the distance between the sky and the earth. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaws, for it is the best and highest part of Paradise. (Yahya bin Salih said:) I think he said: Above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and from it the rivers of Paradise flow.”

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

5. 1. It is mentioned in a hadith that when the Muslims heard the initial part of Surah Al-Fath, ليغفرلك الله, they said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Congratulations to you ﷺ, but what is there for us?" Upon this, Allah revealed the verse ليدخل المؤمنين (Sahih Bukhari, Chapter: The Expedition of Hudaybiyyah).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

5. So that He may admit believing men [5] and believing women into Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever, and remove from them their misdeeds. And that is a great success in the sight of Allah.

Tranquility in Emotions is from Allah:

For the context of revelation of this verse, please refer to the hadith mentioned under verse number 2. That is, at the place of Hudaybiyyah, the Muslims demonstrated remarkable patience and absolute obedience to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. The Muslims will receive great reward for this, as will those Muslim women who, in one way or another, participated in this expedition. Because it is well known how much part women have in willingly sending the Mujahideen and later taking responsibility for managing the household. Especially in those circumstances when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taking along a large number of companions, and there were enemies all around Medina.
