Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 19) ➊ {وَ مَغَانِمَ كَثِيْرَةً يَّاْخُذُوْنَهَا:} This refers to Khaybar and other Jewish settlements that came into the hands of the Muslims without any significant resistance. Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri writes: "Khaybar was a very large city, eighty (80) miles to the north of Madinah, which had many forts and numerous gardens. Ibn Ishaq said, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from Hudaybiyyah and stayed in Madinah for part of Dhu al-Hijjah and Muharram, then set out towards Khaybar during the remaining days of Muharram." (Al-Raheeq Al-Makhtum) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: [ اِفْتَتَحْنَا خَيْبَرَ، وَلَمْ نَغْنَمْ ذَهَبًا وَلاَ فِضَّةً، إِنَّمَا غَنِمْنَا الْبَقَرَ وَالْإِبِلَ وَالْمَتَاعَ وَالْحَوَائِطَ ] [ بخاري، المغازي، باب غزوۃ خیبر: ۴۲۳۴ ] "We conquered Khaybar and did not obtain gold or silver as spoils; we only obtained cows, camels, goods, and gardens as spoils." The extent of the spoils obtained by the Muslims as a result of the conquest of Khaybar can be gauged from a narration of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: [ مَا شَبِعْنَا حَتّٰي فَتَحْنَا خَيْبَرَ ] [ بخاري، المغازي، باب غزوۃ خیبر : ۴۲۴۳ ] "We did not eat to our fill until Khaybar was conquered." And Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: [ لَمَّا فُتِحَتْ خَيْبَرُ قُلْنَا الْآنَ نَشْبَعُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ ] [ بخاري، المغازي، باب غزوۃ خیبر : ۴۲۴۲ ] "When Khaybar was conquered, we said, now we will eat dates to our fill." It is stated in Al-Raheeq Al-Makhtum: "As a result of this conquest, the Muhajirun received so much land and so many gardens that they returned the date-palm trees to the Ansar which the Ansar had given them in Madinah."

{ وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا:} Since, in view of the large number and equipment of the disbelievers and the small number of the Muslims, this seemed impossible, the reason for this victory and spoils was stated with this sentence. Al-Biqa'i said: "With this waw, it is connected to the implied sentence: {’’أَيْ بِعِزَّةِ اللّٰهِ وَ حِكْمَتِهِ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا‘‘} that all of this happened by the might and wisdom of Allah, and Allah has always been dominant over all, perfect in wisdom. No one can overpower Him, nor can anyone point out any error in His planning."

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

19. 1. These are the spoils that were obtained from Khaybar. It was a very fertile and lush area, and accordingly, the Muslims received a very large amount of spoils from here, which were distributed only among the people of Hudaybiyyah.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And many spoils of war as well, which they will acquire. And Allah is Mighty, Wise [27].

[27] That is, in there being no battle at the place of Hudaybiyyah and in any case, in the establishment of peace, there were countless wisdoms of Allah; therefore, He let happen only that which He willed. As for the reward for the devotion of those who pledged allegiance, they will receive it in the form of the spoils of Khaybar. And the reward that is with Allah for them is indeed much greater.
