Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 18) ➊ { اُولٰٓىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ:} That is, those who are disrespectful to parents and deniers of the Hereafter are the very people upon whom the word of Allah has been fulfilled, which He had previously declared: « لَاَمْلَـَٔنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ » [ ھود:۱۱۹] “That I will surely fill Hell with jinn and humans all together.” See also Surah Al-A’raf (18).

{ فِيْۤ اُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْاِنْسِ:} That is, by joining those groups of jinn and humans who, among the people of Hell, have passed before them. The company of these worst people itself is the worst punishment.

{ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا خٰسِرِيْنَ: ’’إِنَّ‘‘} The word 'Inna' is for reasoning, meaning their end happened because the capital of life that was given to them in the world for preparation for the Hereafter, instead of benefiting from it, they lost even the principal amount, and this is the real loss that they incurred.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

18. 1 That which was already in Allah's knowledge, or in response to Satan to whom Allah said (لَاَمْلَــــَٔنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكَ وَمِمَّنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ) 38. Saad:85).

18. 2 That is, they too became included among those disbelievers from among humans and jinn who will be among the losers on the Day of Resurrection.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

18. These are the ones upon whom the Word of Allah (regarding punishment) has come true, along with the communities of jinn and humans that came before them. Surely, they are the ones who are the losers. [28][29]

[28] That is, such obstinate people who neither reflect nor accept rational arguments, upon them fits Allah’s saying that I will fill Hell with a great multitude of jinn and humans. And this statement is, in fact, also a response to what Iblis had said to Allah Almighty: that I will surely mislead all of Your creation, except for a few of Your sincere servants who may escape my schemes. This son, who is a denier of the Hereafter, is also among those who will enter Hell, or in other words, among those who fall prey to Iblis.

[29]
The Denier of the Hereafter Is at Loss in Both This World and the Hereafter:

The denier of the Hereafter suffers this loss in the world: that by becoming bold in committing sins, he also wastes the seed of faith and felicity which Allah Almighty, out of His mercy, has naturally placed in every person’s heart. Then, when he strangles the very conscience that reproaches him for his sins, nothing remains to bring him to the right path. And his loss in the Hereafter is that even if he had done some good deeds in his life, he will receive no reward for them. This is because he did not perform those deeds with the intention of receiving reward in the Hereafter. In this way, only his sins will remain.
