Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 25) ➊ { وَاِذَاتُتْلٰىعَلَيْهِمْاٰيٰتُنَا … :} This was the most weighty argument of the disbelievers which they presented before the prophets to deny the Hereafter: "If you are truthful in your belief that we will be resurrected after death, then bring back any one of our forefathers." However, the Qur'an has declared it impossible and unattainable for any individual to return to this world alive before the Day of Resurrection, while it has established rational arguments for the possibility of resurrection on the Day of Judgment, which are firm and undeniable. As for faith in the Hereafter, it depends entirely on the confirmation of the prophets, peace be upon them. The detailed explanation of this verse has already passed under verse (36) of Surah Ad-Dukhan.
➋ {مَاكَانَحُجَّتَهُمْاِلَّاۤاَنْقَالُوا …:} It is obvious that their saying, "If you are truthful that the Resurrection will come, then bring our forefathers back to life right now," is not an argument or proof, but rather a most futile statement, as detailed in Surah Ad-Dukhan (36). Here, it is called an argument only to make it clear that they have no argument at all, because what they consider an argument in their imagination has nothing to do with actual argument or proof. Calling it their argument is also meant as mockery and ridicule of them, that the arguments and proofs of these intelligent people are of this kind.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
25. 1. This is their greatest argument, which is a manifestation of their obstinacy.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And when Our clear verses are recited to them, their only argument is to say, "Bring back our forefathers [37], if you are truthful."
[37] The Objection of the Deniers of the Hereafter: Show Us a Dead Person Brought Back to Life:
Their only response is that if life after death is certain, then bring back to life one of our great elders so we can see. However, the claim of the prophets is never that when someone denies, they can bring a dead person out of the grave to show him so that he becomes fully convinced. Rather, their claim is only that after the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will resurrect all human beings at once. It is not that before the Resurrection, the dead will be brought back to life from time to time. Then, when He will resurrect your forefathers, He will also resurrect you, and the entire reality will become clear before all of you.
