Crouching · Meccan · Juz 25 · Page 500

Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allâh (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers) are Auliyâ’ (protectors, helpers) of one another, but Allâh is the Walî (Helper, Protector) of the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2).
إِنَّهُمْ innahum Indeed, they
لَن lan never

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 19) ➊ { اِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُّغْنُوْا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـًٔا: ’’إِنَّ‘‘} Taʿlīl means to state the reason for something. In the previous verse, it was said that you should follow the Shariah revealed by Allah and not follow the desires of those who do not know. Now it is said that the reason for this is that if you follow their desires to please them and make any alteration in the religion, you will anger your Allah, and then these people will not be able to save you from the grasp of Allah in any way.

{ وَ اِنَّ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ … :} This is the second reason for prohibiting the following of the desires of such people: following the Shariah of Allah is the work of the pious, and following the desires of anyone other than Him is the work of the wrongdoers, because wrongdoing is giving someone else's right to another, and they are giving Allah's right to others. Such wrongdoers, for the sake of their worldly interests, are friends of one another and follow each other's words. (See Ankabut: 25) Whereas the pious are friends of Allah and He is their friend. (See Baqarah: 257) Now, if you follow anyone else's desires instead of Allah's Shariah, you will break the bond of friendship with your Master and join it with the wrongdoers, and what could be a greater loss than this?

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The explanation of this verse has been given along with the previous verse.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

They will not avail you at all against Allah [26]. Surely, the wrongdoers are allies of one another [27], but Allah is the Protector of the righteous.

[26] If you support the position of any of these sects, then perhaps in this world they will become your supporters, but on the Day of Resurrection, they will be of no use to you; rather, they themselves will be seized in the punishment of their misguidance, so how could they benefit others?
[27] That is, in opposition to the truth, all the unjust and oppressive people gather together and unite, even though there are considerable internal differences among them. In such a situation, the only supporter and helper of Allah's obedient and God-fearing servants is Allah Himself, who sets all their affairs right, and His help is lasting and enduring, which will remain not only in this world but also in the Hereafter.
