➋ { وَ زَوَّجْنٰهُمْ بِحُوْرٍ عِيْنٍ:’’ حُوْرٌ ‘‘ ’’حَوْرَاءُ‘‘} is the plural, referring to a very fair woman whose eyes are intensely black and the whites are extremely white, such that one is left astonished upon seeing her. [36] ﴿حور﴾ is the plural of ﴿حوراء﴾, and ﴿حوراء﴾ means a fair-skinned woman, while 'Ain' is the plural of 'Ainaa', meaning a woman with large eyes. The pupil of the eye is intensely black and the white is very white. Such a woman is extremely beautiful. The people of Paradise will be given such women, as well as those who were their wives in the world and were believers.
