(Ayah 36){ فَاْتُوْابِاٰبَآىِٕنَاۤاِنْكُنْتُمْصٰدِقِيْنَ:} That is, we have never seen any deceased person come back to life; if your claim is that there is another life, then bring our forefathers out of their graves, if you are truthful, otherwise we will consider you a liar. They considered this argument to be very strong! Whereas, for several reasons, it is completely baseless, because who told them that it will happen in this world? It will be a new world in which all the dead will rise at once. Then, who told them that reviving the dead is within the power of the Prophet? His task is only to convey the message, not to revive the dead or fulfill demands for miracles. And the third reason is that the Day of Judgment has an appointed time which only Allah knows; it will come at the time Allah has determined. Now, what wisdom is there in demanding the Day of Judgment before its appointed time? If someone is informed about something that will happen in the future, can it be denied by saying, “Show it to us immediately; if it does not happen now, it will never happen”? Obviously, this is a very foolish thing to say.

36. 1. This is being said to the Prophet ﷺ and the Muslims by the disbelievers that if your belief is clear and authentic that there will be resurrection, then bring our forefathers back to life and show us. This was their obstinacy because the belief in resurrection is related to the Day of Judgment, not to bringing someone back to life in this world before the Day of Judgment.

36. If you are truthful, then bring back our forefathers [26].
[26] The Objection of the Disbelievers: "Bring Our Forefathers Back to Life":
The demand of the disbelievers is wrong for three reasons. First, the responsibility of the Messenger is only to convey the message of Allah. He neither claims nor possesses divine powers such that whenever a disbeliever makes such a demand, he could bring back one of their elders to life. The second reason is that no prophet has ever said that you will be brought back to life and sent into this world again; rather, it will be another realm in which the dead will be raised to life. The third reason is that the Prophet informs that your resurrection will be on the Day of Judgment, so do these people want another resurrection to occur before the actual Day of Judgment? Whereas the time of the Day of Judgment is fixed and no one knows it except Allah. Then, when their forefathers or they themselves are brought back to life, will they even remember this demand of theirs? In fact, many other kinds of concerns will preoccupy them.
