Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 22){ فَدَعَارَبَّهٗۤاَنَّهٰۤؤُلَآءِقَوْمٌمُّجْرِمُوْنَ:} Here, a long story has been omitted which consists of many years of the invitation of Musa (peace be upon him), the rebellion of Pharaoh despite all kinds of trials, the immense oppression upon the Children of Israel, and their unparalleled patience. With {’’ فَدَعَارَبَّهٗۤ ‘‘}, the conclusion of this story has been stated, that when, after seeing all the miracles, every time promising to believe and then breaking that promise, they clearly said: «مَهْمَاتَاْتِنَابِهٖمِنْاٰيَةٍلِّتَسْحَرَنَابِهَافَمَانَحْنُلَكَبِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ»[الأعراف : ۱۳۲ ] "So whatever sign you bring to us, to bewitch us with it, we will never believe you." So, after being completely disappointed in their believing, just like Nuh (peace be upon him), Musa (peace be upon him) also prayed to his Lord against them that these people are criminals, and by no means will they believe. In Surah Yunus it is stated: « وَقَالَمُوْسٰىرَبَّنَاۤاِنَّكَاٰتَيْتَفِرْعَوْنَوَمَلَاَهٗزِيْنَةًوَّاَمْوَالًافِيالْحَيٰوةِالدُّنْيَارَبَّنَالِيُضِلُّوْاعَنْسَبِيْلِكَرَبَّنَااطْمِسْعَلٰۤىاَمْوَالِهِمْوَاشْدُدْعَلٰىقُلُوْبِهِمْفَلَايُؤْمِنُوْاحَتّٰىيَرَوُاالْعَذَابَالْاَلِيْمَ »[ یونس : ۸۸ ] "And Musa said: O our Lord! Surely You have given Pharaoh and his chiefs splendor and wealth in the life of this world, O our Lord! so that they may lead astray from Your path. O our Lord! Destroy their wealth and harden their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the painful punishment."

[17] Sayyiduna Musa’s (AS) Plea to His Lord:
The plea of Musa (AS) is similar to the pleas made by the noble Prophets when they had tried to guide their people and had become completely despondent regarding them. In other words, the time of this plea is exactly the time when Sayyiduna Musa (AS) was commanded to migrate with the Children of Israel and the believers.
