Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 78) {لَقَدْجِئْنٰكُمْبِالْحَقِّوَلٰكِنَّاَكْثَرَكُمْ … :} In this verse, Allah’s address can be understood as directed either to the people of Hell or to the Quraysh and other disbelievers in the world. In the first case, where it is said that most of you disliked the truth, it is because a few among them were not those who disliked the truth; rather, they remained firm upon disbelief due to blindly following their elders and leaders. Most of them were those who recognized the truth but hated it because it conflicted with their interests and desires. In the second case, the condition of the disbelievers in the world is described: most of them, after the truth comes, dislike it because it goes against their desires. As for the few, they remain firm upon disbelief not due to like or dislike, but due to imitation.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
78. 1. This is the statement of Allah or it is the saying of the angels as representatives of Allah, just as an authorized officer uses 'We' in the sense of authority. By 'most' is meant 'all', that is, all the inhabitants of Hell, or by 'most' is meant the leaders and chiefs. The rest of the inhabitants of Hell will be included in this as their followers. By 'truth' is meant the religion and message of Allah which He has been sending through the prophets. The final truth is the Quran and the religion of Islam.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
We certainly brought you the truth, but most of you [73] detested the truth.
[73] These words could be those of the angel of Hell, Malik, who is speaking as the deputy of Allah Almighty. Or they could be from Allah Almighty Himself. That is, such a severe punishment is being given to you because you did not even tolerate listening to the true words conveyed by Allah Almighty. This is the treatment for your very arrogance.
