وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ﴿7﴾
And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him.

7. And whenever a prophet came to them, they only mocked [6] him.

[6] Just as you are calling this Book the tales of the ancients, its example is exactly the same as when, in earlier times, Allah’s prophets came to their people with Allah’s Book, and they mocked Allah’s Book and their prophet. You too, by following in the footsteps of those people, have started mocking this Book and are troubling your prophet with mockery and other mischiefs.
