Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 65) ➊ { فَاخْتَلَفَ الْاَحْزَابُ مِنْۢ بَيْنِهِمْ:} Despite this guidance of Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام, the Children of Israel did not refrain from disagreement, rather they split into further groups regarding the person of Isa عليه السلام. Some accepted him as a true messenger, and some declared him a liar and a deceiver. Then, those who denied went so far as to accuse his mother and called him illegitimate, and opposed him to such an extent that, in their assumption, they crucified him. And as for those who believed, if some remained on the right path, then some considered him the son of Allah, some considered him one of three gods, and some considered him Allah Himself, and every sect acted with such stubbornness that countless sects came into existence and began to quarrel with each other. The meaning of {’’ مِنْۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ‘‘} is that the cause of disagreement was not external, but it was they themselves.

➋ By the wrongdoers in { فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍ اَلِيْمٍ:} are meant those groups who declared him a liar, and also those who, in their devotion, went to excess and committed shirk by considering him the son of Allah or Allah Himself. {’’ يَوْمٍ اَلِيْمٍ ‘‘} refers to the Day of Resurrection.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

65. 1. By this are meant the Jews and Christians; the Jews found fault with ‘Isa (Jesus) ؑ and, God forbid, declared him to be illegitimate, while the Christians, in exaggeration, made him into a deity. Or, it refers to the various sects among the Christians themselves, who have severe disagreements about ‘Isa (Jesus) ؑ: one calls him the son of Allah, another calls him Allah, a third says he is one of the Trinity, and one sect, just like the Muslims, acknowledges him as a servant of Allah and His messenger.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

65. Then various groups among them differed among themselves [64]. So woe to the wrongdoers from the punishment of a painful day.

The Disputes of the Children of Israel Regarding Sayyiduna Isa:
Despite the guidance of Sayyiduna Isa ؑ, the Children of Israel did not refrain from their disputes and sectarianism. Furthermore, they committed an even greater injustice by creating differences regarding the very person of Sayyiduna Isa, thereby increasing these disputes even more. One sect among the Children of Israel accused Lady Maryam and became such enemies of Sayyiduna Isa ؑ that, with the cooperation of the ruling government, they thought they had crucified him. And those who believed in Sayyiduna Isa ؑ went to the other extreme. Some considered him the son of Allah, some regarded him as one of three gods, and some declared him to be Allah Himself. Then, in support of their respective positions, they acted with such stubbornness and obstinacy that countless sects came into existence and began to quarrel and fight with each other.
