Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 21) ➊ {وَقَالُوْالِجُلُوْدِهِمْلِمَشَهِدْتُّمْعَلَيْنَا:} They will not ask this from their skins to seek information, but rather as an expression of astonishment and reproach, saying: "It was for your protection that we used to lie to Allah, and now you are testifying against us." ➋ { قَالُوْۤااَنْطَقَنَااللّٰهُالَّذِيْۤاَنْطَقَكُلَّشَيْءٍ:} Their limbs will respond to both their astonishment and reproach. In response to their astonishment, they will say: "Our speaking is not something astonishing; the tongue used to speak by Allah's command and by His granting of speech, and likewise, every speaking thing speaks by His command. Now He has made us speak, so what is so astonishing about that?" ➌ { وَهُوَخَلَقَكُمْاَوَّلَمَرَّةٍوَّاِلَيْهِتُرْجَعُوْنَ:} This speech could be from the skins themselves, or it could be Allah addressing the deniers of the Hereafter.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
21. 1. That is, when the polytheists and disbelievers will see that their own limbs are testifying against them, then out of astonishment or as a form of reproach and anger, they will say to them. 21. 1. According to some, "wahuwa" refers to the speech of Allah, in which case this sentence is independent, and according to others, it is the speech of the human skins themselves, as a continuation of their own words. The mention of the testimony of human limbs on the Day of Resurrection has already occurred in (وَلِلّٰهِمُلْكُالسَّمٰوٰتِوَالْاَرْضِ ۚ وَاِلَىاللّٰهِالْمَصِيْرُ) 24. An-Nur:42) (اَلْيَوْمَنَخْتِمُعَلٰٓياَفْوَاهِهِمْوَتُكَلِّمُنَآاَيْدِيْهِمْوَتَشْهَدُاَرْجُلُهُمْبِمَاكَانُوْايَكْسِبُوْنَ) 65), and it has also been described in Sahih ahadith. For example, when, by Allah's command, the human limbs will speak and inform, the servant will say: "ba'dan lakunna wa suḥqan fa 'ankunna kuntu unāḍil" (Sahih Muslim, Kitab az-Zuhd) — "Destruction and distance be for you! I was arguing and defending only for your sake." In the same narration, it is also stated that the servant will say: "I do not accept the testimony of anyone except my own self." Allah Almighty will say: "Am I and My noble recording angels (Kiraman Katibin) not sufficient as witnesses?" Then a seal will be set upon his mouth, and his limbs will be ordered to speak. Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani

The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And they will say to their skins, “Why did you testify against us?” They will reply, “Allah has made us speak, the One Who has made everything speak [25]. He created you the first time, and to Him you will be returned.”
[25] The Organs of Speech and Their Structure:
The tongue is also just a piece of flesh and muscle like other organs. And in the power of speech, it is not only the tongue that functions. Rather, the vocal cords, due to which someone's voice is melodious and another's is harsh, then the lips and the palate, etc., all are used. Only then does a person speak. The material of the organs of the body is the same; only the structure is different. And Allah Almighty has made such a structure of these organs that someone becomes capable of speaking. So, the Being who is capable of creating the structure of these organs, especially for the first time, how difficult is it for Him, when needed, to make such a change in the structure of another organ that it begins to speak? In this way, when the very organs used by the criminals during the crime will testify against them, then there will remain no room for denial for them. Thus, their judgment will be made and they will be punished in front of everyone.
