He is the Ever Living, Lâ ilâha illâ Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He); so invoke Him making your worship pure for Him Alone (by worshipping Him Alone, and none else, and by doing righteous deeds sincerely for Allâh’s sake only, and not to show off, and not setting up rivals with Him in worship). All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 65) ➊ The definite article "al" in { هُوَ الْحَيُّ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ: ’’ الْحَيُّ ‘‘} has created the meaning of exclusivity in the statement, that He alone is alive, meaning He is eternally alive and will always remain alive, so He alone is worthy of worship. All others have come into existence from the valley of death and are destined to enter the embrace of death. So how can those who die become deserving of worship? See also the commentary on Ayat al-Kursi (Al-Baqarah: 255) and Surah An-Nahl (21).
➋ For details on { فَادْعُوْهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ:}, see the commentary on Surah Al-A'raf (29) and Surah Al-Mu'min (14).
➌ That is, when all these blessings are granted by Him alone, and all these attributes and excellences are found in Him alone, who is the Lord of all worlds, then no one else has the right to be praised or to be worshipped in gratitude; rather, this right belongs only to Allah, who is the Lord of all worlds.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

65. 1. That is, when He alone is the One who does everything and gives everything, and no one else is a partner in creation or authority, then only Allah alone is worthy of worship; no one else can be associated with Him in this. Seek help and assistance only from Him, for He alone is capable of hearing everyone's pleas and supplications; no one else is capable of hearing anyone in a supernatural way. When this is the case, then how can others remove difficulties or fulfill needs?

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

He is the Ever-Living [87] (Who never dies); there is no deity except Him. So call upon Him, devoting your worship [88] purely to Him. All praise is for Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.

[87]
Allah's Attributes are Eternal and Everlasting:

He alone is the One whose existence is from eternity and who will remain alive forever and ever. All other things are created and will, at some point, face extinction, whether they are living or non-living. The life of all other living beings is granted by Allah Almighty, whereas His life is intrinsic. Therefore, He alone truly deserves to be called "the Living." Just as His life is eternal and everlasting, so are all His other attributes eternal and everlasting. Only that Being can be the true deity whose life and other attributes are permanent and everlasting. No other deity possesses these attributes.
[88] For an explanation of this, see the commentary on Surah Az-Zumar, verses 2 and 3.
