Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 50) {قَالُوْۤااَوَلَمْتَكُتَاْتِيْكُمْرُسُلُكُمْبِالْبَيِّنٰتِ …:} The keepers of Hell will say to them, in order to make it clear that you are not worthy of being listened to or having intercession made for you, “Did not your messengers come to you with clear proofs?” They will say, “Yes, indeed!” Upon this, the angels will say to them, “Then when you did not respond to their call, no one will listen to your call either, so keep calling; the call of the disbelievers is utterly useless and in vain.” Shah Abdul Qadir writes: “The angels of Hell will say, intercession is not our job, we are appointed over punishment. Intercession is the job of the messengers, and you were opposed to the messengers.” (Muwaddih) Elsewhere it is mentioned that they will call upon Malik (i.e., the chief keeper of Hell) and say, pray to Allah that He may finish our matter, but he will say, you must remain here. (See Zukhruf: 77) And they will also request their Lord to be taken out of Hell, but even from there they will be rebuffed and told, do not speak to Me. See Surah Al-Mu’minun (107, 108).
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
50. 1 How can we say anything to Allah on behalf of those people to whom Allah’s messengers came with clear proofs and miracles, but they paid no heed?
50. 2 That is, in the end, they themselves will cry out to Allah, but their cry will not be heard there. This is because, in the world, the proof had been completed against them. Now the Hereafter is not a place for faith, repentance, or action; it is the abode of recompense. Whatever was done in the world, its result will have to be faced there.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
50. They will say: "Did not your messengers come to you with clear proofs [64]?" They will reply: "Yes, they did." The keepers will say: "Then pray (yourselves) [65], but the prayer of the disbelievers is only in vain [66]."
[64] They will say that intercession can only be made on the basis of some excuse. But you did not leave any room for excuse, so what can we say in intercession? Either you should say that no messenger came to us, nor did Allah’s message reach us. And when Allah’s messengers came to you with clear proofs and informed you of every possible outcome, then on what basis can intercession be made?
[65] This is the second answer of the angels: that our job is not to intercede, and the task that is ours, we are indeed performing. Intercession is the work of the messengers, and by opposing them you have already angered them. Therefore, now try praying for yourselves.
[66] That is, it proves to be ineffective, fruitless, and useless. The call of the disbelievers does not reach Allah at all; it gets lost along the way.
