Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 76) {اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ … :} After the obligation and encouragement of jihad, this verse explains that the outward form of jihad is not what matters; rather, jihad is considered jihad according to its purpose. A believer always fights for the exaltation of Allah’s word, while disbelievers fight to protect or strengthen some tyrannical power. Therefore, you should fight them well. No matter how much Satan teaches his friends tricks and deception, they cannot succeed against you.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

76. 1. Both the believer and the disbeliever find themselves in need of wars. But there is a great difference in their objectives for war: the believer fights for Allah, not merely for worldly gain or the desire for conquest. Whereas the disbeliever's objective is this world and its interests.

76. 2. Believers are being encouraged that the tricks and schemes for tyrannical purposes are weak; do not fear the abundance of their apparent means and their large numbers. In comparison to your strength of faith and determination for jihad, these tricks of Satan cannot stand.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

76. Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of Taghut [105]. So fight against the allies of Satan. Surely, the plot of Satan is ever weak.

[105]
Temporary and Political Unity is a Satanic Unity Whose Foundation is Weak:

Here, by "Taghut" is meant the individual chieftainships of the leaders of Quraysh, as well as the chieftainships of the leaders of the Jews and other Arab tribes. Through these, their dominance over the people was established. As Allah granted Islam progress, these leaders began to see their chieftainships becoming unstable and shaky, so they started confronting the Muslims. In other words, all the nations hostile to Islam would unite against the Muslims and become ready to eradicate Islam, and this unity of disbelief against Islam was, in reality, a satanic unity, and it was merely a temporary and political alliance. Otherwise, the mutual differences among the nations included in this alliance still existed as before. Therefore, Allah Almighty guided the Muslims to confront this satanic army with full courage and bravery, because the very foundation of their unity is weak.
