Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 63,62) That is, when they become victims of divine reproach due to their own deeds and get entangled in troubles, then they come and say that the purpose of going elsewhere was not to get a judgment from there, nor did we expect more justice from there than from you, rather the purpose was to bring about reconciliation and harmony. Allah Almighty said that although We are aware of the secrets of their hearts, for which We will recompense them, but O Prophet! You should turn away from them based on their outward actions and keep striving to reform their inner selves through admonition, advice, and eloquent speech. From this, it is understood that the conspiracies of such enemies should be thwarted through forgiveness, admonition, advice, and eloquent speech. Remember! This refers to the time when the hypocrites were subdued and Islam, its laws, and its courts were dominant, and the hypocrites, after seeking judgment from others, would regret it and make excuses.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

62. 1. That is, when, due to this action of theirs, they become subject to Allah's reproach and get entangled in troubles, then they come and say that by going to another place, our purpose was not to get a decision from there or that we would get more justice than from you ﷺ, rather the purpose was reconciliation and making peace.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

62. Then what will be their state when a calamity befalls them because of what their own hands have done? They will come to you, swearing by Allah, saying, "We intended nothing but good and mutual [94] reconciliation."

[94] After the killing of the hypocrite, his heirs came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and filed a case of retribution (qisas) against Sayyiduna Umar ؓ, basing their case on the claim that their intention in seeking a judgment from Sayyiduna Umar ؓ against your decision was never to oppose your verdict, but rather that they thought Sayyiduna Umar ؓ would reconcile and make peace between the two parties. They even began to swear by Allah that, in reality, their purpose in going to Sayyiduna Umar ؓ was only for reconciliation.
