Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 56) {اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا …:} Here it is stated that this punishment is not specific to a group among the People of the Book, but will be given to all disbelievers. (Razi) The purpose of «{ بَدَّلْنٰهُمْ جُلُوْدًا غَيْرَهَا is to describe the severity of the punishment for the inhabitants of Hell; Allah knows best how many times in each moment their skins will burn and be replaced in such an intense fire. However, it is established from Sahih ahadith that the bodies of the people of Hell will be greatly enlarged. In a hadith it is stated: "The distance between the earlobe and the shoulder of a disbeliever will be a journey of seventy years." [ أحمد : ۶؍۱۱۶، ۱۱۷، ح : ۲۴۹۰۹ و سندہ صحیح۔ ہدایۃ المستنیر ] And similarly it is said: "The molar tooth of a disbeliever will be as large as Mount Uhud, and the thickness of his skin will be equal to a journey of three days." [ مسلم، الجنۃ و صفۃ نعیمھا و أھلھا : ۲۸۵۱ ] In this way, they will continue to receive eternal punishment.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

56. 1. This means that not only the deniers among the People of the Book will enter Hell, but the abode of all other disbelievers will also be Hell.

56. 2. This describes the severity, continuity, and permanence of the punishment of Hell. In some reports narrated from the Companions, it is mentioned that the changing of skins will occur dozens or even hundreds of times in a day, and according to a narration in Musnad Ahmad, the inhabitants of Hell will become so large in Hell that the distance from their earlobe to the back of their neck will be as much as a journey of seven hundred years, the thickness of their skin will be seventy spans, and their molar tooth will be as large as Mount Uhud.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

56. Surely those who reject Our signs, We will soon cast them into the Fire. Whenever their skins are burnt away [88], We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Surely, Allah is Mighty and Wise.

[88] The changing of skins will be done so that, instead of any reduction in their torment, there will actually be some increase in it, because burning an already burnt skin causes relatively less pain.
