Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 174) {يٰۤاَيُّهَاالنَّاسُقَدْجَآءَكُمْبُرْهَانٌ ……:} When Allah Almighty established proofs against all the misguided sects, disbelievers, hypocrites, Jews, and Christians, and completely refuted their doubts and suspicions, then in this verse, a general invitation is given to believe in the messengership of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), that a clear proof of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) being the true Prophet has come to you, and We have revealed the light that clarifies the truth, that is, the Noble Qur’an, which brings a person out of the darkness of misguidance into the light of guidance and becomes a cause for the light of faith to be created in the heart.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
174. 1. Burhan is such a decisive proof after which no one has any excuse left, and such an argument by which their doubts are removed. That is why it is later referred to as light. 174. 2. By this is meant the Noble Quran, which is the light of guidance in the darkness of disbelief and polytheism. On the paths of misguidance, it is the straight path and the firm rope of Allah. Thus, those who believe accordingly are deserving of Allah's grace and His mercy.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
174. O people! Surely, a clear proof [231] has come to you from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light (the Noble Qur’an).
[231] Why is the Quran a Burhan (Conclusive Proof)?
Burhan refers to such a clear proof that it holds a decisive position between two parties. The Quran is a Burhan in this sense that it challenged all its disbelieving opponents: "If you think that this is not the word of Allah but rather the word of a human, then all of you together, helping one another, produce even a single surah like the Quran." However, all the eloquent, articulate, and poetic masters of Arabia were unable to produce such speech. From this single challenge, three things are proven, and this proof is also such that it holds a decisive position: (1) Proof of the existence of Allah Almighty, (2) Proof that the Quran is the word of Allah, and (3) Proof of your Prophethood. In this regard, the Quran is called Burhan. And it is called a Clear Light (Nur Mubeen) in the sense that, for human guidance—that is, for the worldly way of life and salvation in the Hereafter—it sheds light on every aspect of life.
