➋ { اَلَيْسَ اللّٰهُ بِعَزِيْزٍ ذِي انْتِقَامٍ:} Is Allah not dominant over all, such that whoever is under His protection, no one can even look towards him with ill intent? And is He not, for His own sake and for the sake of His friends, the Possessor of great vengeance ({انْتِقَامٍ}'s tanween is for magnification), such that no one can save the enemies of Him and His friends from His mighty vengeance? Surely, He is dominant over all and the Possessor of great vengeance:
Do not be deceived by His forbearance, for His grip is unyielding;
Fear His delay, for His vengeance is severe.

37. 2. Why not, certainly it is so. Because if these people do not refrain from disbelief and stubbornness, then surely He will take revenge on them in support of His friends and will make them face a dreadful end.

How is Allah Insulted?
These polytheists are greatly concerned about the honor of their respective deities and elders, and for this purpose, they fabricate and spread many tales and legends among the people. Yet, it never occurs to them that above all these is such a Mighty Being whom, under the guise of elevating the honor of their deities, they are gravely insulting. And that Being is fully capable of taking complete revenge on them, and they do not even grasp this simple fact that, in comparison to the Almighty Allah, what reality do their deities even possess? They wish to intimidate the worshiper of Allah alone with such empty threats.
