Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 9){ اَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَآىِٕنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ … :} This is the answer to their statement: Why was this message sent down upon him from among us? Are the treasures of the mercy of your Mighty and Bestowing Lord with them, that they may grant blessings to whomever they wish, withhold from whomever they wish, and bestow the lofty rank of prophethood upon whomever they wish? No, never! Rather, Allah alone is the sole owner of the treasures of His mercy; He selects whomever He wills for His messengership and withholds from whomever He wills. Now, if He has chosen you for the blessing of messengership, then why are they jealous? The same answer to this objection is given in Surah Al-An'am (6:124) and Az-Zukhruf (31, 32), as has already been mentioned in the first benefit of the previous verse.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

9. 1 That He gives to whom He wills and withholds from whom He wills, and among these treasures is Prophethood as well. And if it is not so, rather the Owner of the treasures of the Lord is that same Wahhab who is the Great Giver, then why do they deny the Prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ? Whom this Bestowing Lord has favored with His special mercy.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

9. Or do they possess the treasures of your Lord’s mercy [11], the All-Mighty, the Supreme Bestower?

[11] Answer: Do they consider themselves the custodians of Allah’s mercy? They are not the owners of the treasures of Allah’s mercy that they may appoint whomever they wish to the rank of prophethood, or take it away from whomever they wish. This is a matter solely for Allah, Who gives to everyone and grants whatever blessing He wills to whomever He wills. No one has the courage to interfere in His affairs.
