Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

There can be two meanings of {وَ اللّٰهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَ مَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ : ’’ مَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ ‘‘}: if {’’ مَا ‘‘} is considered as a relative pronoun, then the meaning is: Do you worship that which you yourselves carve, while Allah has created you and also what you make? That is, both you and your idols are creations of Allah, so why do you worship the creation instead of the Creator? And if {’’ مَا ‘‘} is considered as a verbal noun, then the meaning is: Allah has created you and also the actions you do. From this, it is understood that the Creator of all the actions of the servant is also Allah; the servant is only the acquirer and doer, the Creator of his action is not himself but Allah, and this is the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah. Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) has written the book {’’خَلْقُ أَفْعَالِ الْعِبَادِ‘‘} on this issue.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

96. 1. That is, even those idols and images which you make with your own hands and consider them as deities, or generally whatever actions you do, their Creator is also Allah. From this it is clear that the Creator of the actions of the servants is only Allah, as is the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

96. While Allah is the One Who created you and what you make [52].

The Question and Answer Between Prophet Ibrahim and His People:

When the people returned from the festival and saw the condition of their idols, they became extremely enraged. They already knew that only Ibrahim used to oppose their idols, and he had also stayed behind. Therefore, it could only be his doing. So, they came running to him and asked about the reason for such mistreatment of their gods. He replied, "Why don't you ask the big idol, the one with the axe on its shoulder? Perhaps he became angry with the smaller ones and did this to them." Then he added, "These lifeless stone idols, who cannot protect themselves, how can they benefit you? And what is the use of your worshipping them? Moreover, you yourselves have carved these idols, and besides, both you and this stone have been created by Allah. These idols are nothing but creation within creation. Only that Being who is the Creator can be worthy of worship. How can something that is creation within creation be worthy of worship?"
