Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 80) {اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ :} "Ihsan" is found both in the worship of Allah and in dealings with people. The mention of Ihsan in the worship of Allah is in the Hadith of Jibreel, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: [ أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللّٰهَ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاكَ ] [ بخاري، الإیمان، باب سؤال جبریل النبي صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم … : ۵۰ ] "(Ihsan is) that you worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then surely He sees you." The mention of Ihsan with people is in the advice given to Qarun by his people, it is said: «وَ اَحْسِنْ كَمَاۤ اَحْسَنَ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْكَ » [ القصص : ۷۷ ] "Just as Allah has done Ihsan to you, so you also do Ihsan." That is, do good to them without any desire for compensation. The meaning of the verse is that just as We rewarded Nuh (peace be upon him), accepted his supplication, saved him and his family from a great calamity, and continued peace upon him until the Day of Judgment, in the same way We reward all those who do Ihsan. In this, there is great glad tidings for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions.

80. 1. That is, just as by accepting the supplication of Nuh (عليه السلام), by preserving his progeny, and by keeping his good mention among later generations, We honored and dignified Nuh (عليه السلام). In the same way, whoever is a doer of good in his words and deeds, and is steadfast and well-known in this regard, We will deal with him likewise.
