Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 72) {وَ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا فِيْهِمْ مُّنْذِرِيْنَ:} That is, the reason for most people going astray earlier was not that no warner had come to them, but in reality, We sent many warners among them, who warned them of the evil consequences of disbelief, polytheism, and transgressing the limits set by Allah. But they did not accept the truth; rather, they persisted in following their forefathers and blindly continued to follow in the footsteps of those before them.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 72. 1. That is, among the people before them. They conveyed the message of truth and, in case of rejection, warned them of Allah's punishment, but it had no effect on them and they were destroyed, as indicated in the next verse towards their cautionary end.
