Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 64){ اِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِيْۤ اَصْلِ الْجَحِيْمِ :} That is, Zaqqum is such a tree that grows in the depths of Hell, and the heat of the fire does not harm it at all at all, just as when water covers plants, they die, but in the depths of the sea, countless trees and plants grow.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Allah’s Astonishing Creation:

When this verse was revealed, the disbelievers mocked greatly, saying how could a tree possibly grow or survive in fire. And this objection was merely due to their lack of understanding and experience. Because sometimes the forms of Allah’s creation are very unique and astonishing. For example, if water passes over a crop—whether it is floodwater or heavy rain—that crop is destroyed. The same is the case with plants and trees, but trees grow at the bottom of the sea. Then there are also minerals that flourish and blossom like trees, and their growth takes place in water, such as coral. And here, it is only the mention of the thohar tree, that is, vegetation growing in fire. Whereas living beings can also be created in fire, such as the salamander (the fire-worm), which can live only in fire.
