Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
The meaning of {لَافِيْهَاغَوْلٌوَّلَاهُمْعَنْهَايُنْزَفُوْنَ : ’’ غَوْلٌ ‘‘} is harm, headache, stomach pain, and destruction. The meaning of {’’ يُنْزَفُوْنَ ‘‘ ’’نَزَفَ‘‘} (mujarrad) and {’’أَنْزَفَ‘‘} (mazeed fihi), both in active and passive forms, is the loss of intellect. Among the defects found in the wine of this world, its being unsightly, bad-tasting, and foul-smelling was already negated by {’’ بَيْضَآءَلَذَّةٍلِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ ‘‘}, and now the negation of its other defects has also been stated. After drinking worldly wine, vomiting occurs, and in the form of hangover, there is pain in the head, stomach, and the whole body, which sometimes leads to destruction, and the intellect, which is the honor of a human, is lost. The wine of Paradise will be free from every such defect; there will be neither headache nor any other harm in it, nor will their intellect be affected because of it. However, the good qualities of wine, due to which people drink it despite so many harms, all those will be present in the highest degree, such as increasing appetite, bringing delight, and arousing strength and desire, etc.

It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
47. From which they will neither suffer headache [25] nor will they become intoxicated.
[25] Three Harms and One Benefit of Wine:
The wine that is prepared in this world is made by fermenting and decaying certain specific fruits or grains. Such wine has three harms and one benefit. The harms are that after drinking it, it tastes bitter; secondly, it intoxicates the head, which sometimes causes dizziness; and thirdly, for this reason, a person starts speaking incoherently. And if the intoxication increases, he may commit various wrong acts. Speaking nonsense and engaging in indecent acts generally become inseparable from wine. Its benefit is that the drinker experiences a temporary sense of pleasure. The wine that will be given to the people of Paradise will be free from all the above-mentioned defects. However, in terms of its delicacy, purity, and taste, it will be far superior to the wines of this world.
