Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 42) ➊ {’’ فَوَاكِهُ ‘‘ ’’فَاكِهَةٌ ‘‘} is the plural, fruits from which pleasure is obtained. That is, all their food items, even meat, etc., will be for pleasure, not for filling the stomach, because in Paradise there is no question of being afflicted by hunger or thirst. See Surah Ta-Ha (118, 119).
{وَ هُمْ مُّكْرَمُوْنَ: ’’ فَوَاكِهُ ‘‘} are physical pleasures which cannot be complete without spiritual pleasures, therefore it is said that they will be honored therein. {’’ مُكْرَمُوْنَ ‘‘} is used as a passive participle because they will receive honor from Allah Almighty, from the angels, from all other companions and servants of Paradise—in short, from every direction.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. What Kind of Fruits are "Fawakih"?

Here, the word "fawakih" has appeared, and "fawakih" refers to such fruits from which pleasure and delight are obtained. (Maqayis al-Lughah) And this word is generally used for dry fruits. From this, it is also understood that the sustenance given to the people of Paradise will not be for nourishment, but rather for the attainment of pleasure.
