Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 4) {اِنَّاِلٰهَكُمْلَوَاحِدٌ :} That is, the angels who run the system of the universe by Allah’s command, who stand in rows before Him, and by whose rebuke the affairs of the heavens and the earth are managed, and who send down revelation upon the prophets and recite the remembrance of Allah— all these angels are witnesses and proof that the true deity of the universe is One. Because if He were not One, this universe could not remain for even a moment; rather, it would collide and perish, as He said: « لَوْكَانَفِيْهِمَاۤاٰلِهَةٌاِلَّااللّٰهُلَفَسَدَتَا»[ الأنبیاء : ۲۲ ] “If there were in them (the heavens and the earth) other deities besides Allah, they would surely have been corrupted.” Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) has given another very excellent explanation of these three verses; he writes: “The angels stand in rows to listen to Allah’s command, then they rebuke the devils who try to come and listen, then when it has descended, they recite it to one another to convey it.” (Muwadhih) In the following verses, further proofs of this claim are presented.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
4. 1. These are the attributes of the angels. Those who line up in rows for the worship of Allah in the heavens, or those who stand in rows awaiting Allah’s command, those who admonish people through exhortation and advice, or those who drive the clouds wherever Allah commands, those who remember Allah or recite the Quran. By swearing an oath by these angels, Allah Almighty has stated in the subject that the deity of all humans is only One. There are not multiple deities as the polytheists have made up. In common usage, oaths are taken for emphasis and to remove doubt; Allah Almighty has taken an oath here to remove the doubt that the polytheists spread regarding His oneness and divinity. Furthermore, everything is created and owned, so whatever He makes a witness and swears by, it is permissible for Him. But for humans, it is absolutely impermissible and forbidden to swear by anyone other than Allah. Because in an oath, the one by whom the oath is taken is intended to be made a witness. And no one can be a witness except Allah, for only He is the Knower of the unseen, and no one else is the Knower of the unseen except Him.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
4. Indeed, your God is only One [2].
[2] The Quran is the Word of Allah and the Universe is His Deed; Contradiction Between the Two is Impossible:
By swearing an oath by these three types of angels, Allah Almighty has said: "Indeed, your true deity is only One." Here, it should be understood that this universe is the deed of Allah Almighty, and the Dhikr or the Quran is the word or speech of Allah Almighty. And there can be neither any difference nor contradiction between the word and the deed of Allah Almighty. If, by reading the word of Allah Almighty, we reach the conclusion that the true deity can only be One, then inevitably, after reflecting upon the coherent and organized system of this universe, we also reach the same conclusion. These two things support and confirm each other, and there is complete harmony between them. What are the noteworthy aspects in the system of the universe that indicate that the true deity or Lord can only be One? They are mentioned at countless places in the Quran, some of which will be mentioned ahead.
