Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 148) ➊ { فَاٰمَنُوْا :} Shah Abdul Qadir writes: "The very nation from which he had fled was now believing in him. (They) were searching for him, and he had arrived there, (because of this) they were very pleased." (Mowdih)

{ فَمَتَّعْنٰهُمْ اِلٰى حِيْنٍ :} That is, instead of destroying them all at once with punishment, each was granted the opportunity to benefit until their appointed term.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

148. 1. The description of the manner of their believing has already been mentioned in Yunus:98).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The Return of Sayyiduna Yunus to His People:

When Sayyiduna Yunusؑ reached his people, they were already waiting for him. They immediately believed in him. And once again, Allah’s blessings and favors began to descend upon them. Since this incident points to a weak aspect of Sayyiduna Yunusؑ, perhaps for this reason the Messenger of Allah ﷺ emphatically stated that all prophets are equal in terms of prophethood and no prophet is superior to another. The words of one hadith are: “Do not give me superiority over Yunus bin Matta,” and the words of another hadith are: “Whoever gave me superiority over Yunus bin Matta has lied.” [مسلم۔ كتاب الفضائل۔ باب من فضائل موسيٰ عليه السلام]
In reality, this was an ijtihadi mistake of Yunusؑ. And this is possible from every human being, even from the prophets. However, even a small mistake or slip from those who are close to Allah is considered great and worthy of accountability in the sight of Allah. For this reason, even prophets receive reproach from Allah.
