Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 145){ فَنَبَذْنٰهُ بِالْعَرَآءِ وَ هُوَ سَقِيْمٌ: ’’اَلْعَرَآءُ‘‘} A barren plain, in which there was neither a tree nor anything to provide shade. By Allah’s command, the fish vomited him out from the sea onto a barren plain in exactly the same state as it had swallowed him, safe and sound. However, due to staying in the belly of the fish, his skin had become extremely soft and delicate, and at that time he was very weak and ill. Nevertheless, by Allah’s special favor, due to the acceptance of his repentance, his rank had become higher than before. See Surah Al-Qalam (49, 50). As for how many days Yunus (peace be upon him) remained in the belly of the fish—whether it was a short while, or three days, or seven days, or forty days, as the commentators say—Allah did not mention this matter, because however long he stayed, whether little or much, his remaining alive in the belly of the fish and coming out safe and sound is itself a great miracle.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan.
