Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 126) {اللّٰهَرَبَّكُمْوَرَبَّاٰبَآىِٕكُمُالْاَوَّلِيْنَ … :} Ilyas (peace be upon him) drew their attention to the fact that this Baal idol is something you yourselves have fabricated; it is a lifeless idol, whose creator is you yourselves. You are the ones who protect it, and then you go on to worship it as well. It was obligatory for you to worship the One who created you; and not only did He create you, but He also nurtures you, and He is the Creator and Sustainer of your forefathers as well. Leaving aside such an excellent Creator, do you not feel ashamed to prostrate before a lifeless idol of your own making!? (Kilani)
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
126. 1. That is, you worship it, make vows and offerings in its name, and consider it the fulfiller of needs, even though it is a stone idol, while the One who is the Creator of everything and the Lord of all those before and after, you have forgotten Him.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
126. Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers [74]?
[74] That is, Sayyiduna Ilyasؑ drew their attention to the fact that this idol of the deity Baal is something you yourselves have invented. It is a lifeless stone idol whose creator is you yourselves. You are the ones who protect it. Then you go on to worship it as well. What you should have done is worship the One who created you. Not only did He create you, but He also nurtures you. He is also the Creator and Provider of your forefathers. Do you not feel ashamed to leave such an excellent Creator and prostrate before a stone idol of your own making?
