Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 78) {وَضَرَبَلَنَامَثَلًاوَّنَسِيَخَلْقَهٗ … :} That is, he considers Us to be helpless like the creation, that just as a human cannot bring the dead to life, We also cannot do so, and he forgets from what We created him. He says, after the body has decayed and only bones remain, and those too old, worn out, and hollow, then who will bring them to life again? If he remembered his own creation, he would never ask this question, because the One who can create a human from a lowly, dead drop, when he had no existence, how difficult is it for Him to bring his decayed bones back to life? Allah Almighty has reminded of creating man from a drop at several places; in Surah Dahr He said: « اِنَّاخَلَقْنَاالْاِنْسَانَمِنْنُّطْفَةٍاَمْشَاجٍ»[ الدھر : ۲ ] "Indeed, We created man from a mixed drop." And in Surah Mursalat He said: « اَلَمْنَخْلُقْكُّمْمِّنْمَّآءٍمَّهِيْنٍ»[ المرسلات : ۲۰ ] "Did We not create you from a humble water?"

78. And he sets forth for Us a parable and forgets his own creation. He says, "Who will give life [70] to these bones when they have decayed?"
[70] That is, he considers his Lord to be powerless like ordinary creatures, thinking that since humans cannot bring the dead back to life, neither can We. He shows a decayed bone, crushes it in his hands, and scatters it, saying, "Tell me, can this become alive again?" At that moment, he forgets that the very drop from which he himself was created was also made from lifeless food. If he were to reflect on this, he would never raise such an objection.
