Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The meaning of {اَلَمْ اَعْهَدْ اِلَيْكُمْ يٰبَنِيْۤ اٰدَمَ …:’’عَهِدَ إِلَيْهِ‘‘} is that He commanded him. Al-Alusi said, by this emphatic exhortation is meant the commands and prohibitions of Allah that He sent for the children of Adam through His messengers, among which is also the statement of Allah: « يٰبَنِيْۤ اٰدَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ كَمَاۤ اَخْرَجَ اَبَوَيْكُمْ مِّنَ الْجَنَّةِ يَنْزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْاٰتِهِمَا اِنَّهٗ يَرٰىكُمْ هُوَ وَ قَبِيْلُهٗ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ اِنَّا جَعَلْنَا الشَّيٰطِيْنَ اَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ » [ الأعراف : ۲۷ ] "O children of Adam! Let not Satan put you to trial as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their garments to show them their private parts. Indeed, he and his tribe see you from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe." Some have said, what is meant is the covenant mentioned in {’’ اَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ‘‘} (see the commentary of Surah Al-A'raf: 172), or the rational proofs that Allah has placed in the universe for mankind.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60. 1. By this is meant the Covenant of Alast which was taken at the time when the progeny of Adam ؑ was brought forth from his back, or it is the admonition that was conveyed to people through the Prophets. And according to some, it refers to the rational proofs that Allah has established in the heavens and the earth. (Fath al-Qadeer) (2) This is the reason that you were forbidden from worshipping Satan and accepting his whispers, because he is your open enemy and he has sworn to mislead you in every possible way.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60. O children of Adam! Did I not enjoin upon you not to worship Satan [55]? Surely, he is your clear enemy.

[55]
How is the worship of Satan done?

In this verse, the word "worship" conveys two meanings. One is that worship is taken to mean obedience, because who would actually worship Satan—everyone sends curses upon him. The second meaning is that all the deities that have ever been worshipped besides Allah have been worshipped due to the deception of Satan. Therefore, in reality, this is the worship of Satan himself.
