Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 49) ➊ { مَايَنْظُرُوْنَاِلَّاصَيْحَةًوَّاحِدَةً … :} In response to them, it was not said that the Hour will come at such and such a time, rather, a depiction of some terrifying scenes of the Hour was presented before them. ➋ {اِلَّاصَيْحَةًوَّاحِدَةً :} By "a single blast" is meant the first blowing of the trumpet by Israfil (peace be upon him), by which all creation will die. Allah Almighty said, for the Hour that these people are waiting for, We do not need any elaborate preparation; only a single blowing of the trumpet will suffice, and with the sound of its blast, all people will fall unconscious and die. ➌ {تَاْخُذُهُمْوَهُمْيَخِصِّمُوْنَ : ’’ يَخِصِّمُوْنَ ‘‘} Originally, it is {’’ يَخْتَصِمُوْنَ‘‘} (iftial form). The "ta" was changed to "sad" and merged into the "sad," and for the sake of conformity with "sad," the "kha" was also given a kasrah. The purpose of the merging is to express the intensity of their disputing. That is, the Hour will not come gradually, so that seeing it they might compose themselves, rather, all people will be engaged in their own affairs and will be disputing and arguing with full force with one another, when suddenly, with a single blast, the Hour will be established. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: [ تَقُوْمُالسَّاعَةُوَالرَّجُلُيَحْلُبُاللِّقْحَةَفَمَايَصِلُالْإِنَاءُإِلٰیفِيْهِحَتّٰیتَقُوْمَوَالرَّجُلَانِيَتَبَايَعَانِالثَّوْبَفَمَايَتَبَايَعَانِهِحَتّٰیتَقُوْمَوَالرَّجُلُيَلِطُفِيْحَوْضِهِفَمَايَصْدُرُحَتّٰیتَقُوْمَ ][مسلم، الفتن، باب قرب الساعۃ : ۲۹۵۴ ] "The Hour will be established (so suddenly) that a man will be milking his she-camel, but the vessel will not reach his mouth before it is established, and two men will be buying and selling a garment, but they will not be able to complete the transaction before it is established, and a man will be plastering his pond, but he will not return before it is established."
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf

49. 1. That is, people will be engaged in buying and selling in the markets and, as usual, involved in arguments and disputes when suddenly the trumpet will be blown and the Day of Resurrection will be established. This will be the first blowing, which is also called the blowing of terror (نفخہ فزع). It is said that after this there will be a second blowing, نَفْخَۃُالْصَّعْقِ, by which everyone except Allah will pass into the embrace of death.

They are only waiting for a single blast, which will seize them while they are disputing among themselves [47].
[47] The Day of Judgment Will Come Suddenly:
When the Day of Judgment comes, it will not come gradually so that you see it approaching, understand that it is coming, and have time to prepare. Rather, at that time, you will be fully engrossed in your daily activities—someone will be conducting business, someone will be arguing while bargaining, and then suddenly there will be a loud blast, and whoever is in whatever state will be seized right there. Thus, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The Day of Judgment will come while two men are sitting with their cloth spread out between them; they will not have finished their transaction or folded up the cloth when the Day of Judgment will come. A man will be returning with his camel’s milk, but before he can drink it, the Day of Judgment will come. A man will be plastering his pond, but before its water can be drunk, the Day of Judgment will come. And a man will be raising a morsel of food to his mouth, but before he eats it, the Day of Judgment will come. [بخاری۔ کتاب الرقاق۔ باب بلا عنوان]
