Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 19) ➊ {قَالُوْا طَآىِٕرُكُمْ مَّعَكُمْ :} The messengers said, the cause of the misfortune that has come upon you is not us, but your own actions, for you have adopted shirk with Allah and open disobedience and rebellion against Him. If you are afflicted by famine, or plague, or any other calamity, you yourselves are its cause, not us, because we only invite to the oneness of Allah and obedience to Him.
{ اَىِٕنْ ذُكِّرْتُمْ :} The answer to this condition is omitted, meaning, if you are given advice and well-wishing, do you, instead of being grateful, declare us to be unlucky and threaten us?
{بَلْ اَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُوْنَ :} Rather, the truth is that you are people who exceed all bounds. You do not accept any restriction that comes from Allah or is imposed by reason and wisdom, if it goes against your desires.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 19. 1. That is, it is the result of your own evil deeds which is with you, not with Us.

19. They said, "Your bad omen is with yourselves [20]. Is it because you are reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people [21]."

[20] That is, the real reason for your misfortune is not what you have assumed. Rather, the real reason is that previously no warner had come to you. Therefore, you were excused by Allah. Now, if We have conveyed Allah’s message to you and you have turned away from it and become arrogant, then as a consequence you are receiving this punishment from Allah, and this is the misfortune of your own deeds; it has not come from outside.
[21] That is, your way of thinking has become so corrupted that those who are your well-wishers and guide you towards the straight path, you threaten to kill them or cause them harm. And if you suffer any pain due to disobedience to Allah, you hold us responsible for it. Be just! You have crossed all limits of reason and humanity.
