Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 38){ اِنَّاللّٰهَعٰلِمُغَيْبِالسَّمٰوٰتِوَالْاَرْضِ … :} Allah is the Knower of every unseen thing in the heavens and the earth; nothing is hidden from His knowledge. He knows well the matters concealed in the breasts, and He is fully aware of your insistence on disbelief hidden in your hearts. He knows that when you remained firm on disbelief after being granted such a long life, then even if He were to grant you more life, you would continue to do the same. And He knows well that if He were to accept your request and send you back to the world, you would again do the same as you did before, as He said: « وَلَوْرُدُّوْالَعَادُوْالِمَانُهُوْاعَنْهُوَاِنَّهُمْلَكٰذِبُوْنَ »[ الأنعام : ۲۸ ] “And if they were sent back, they would surely return to what they were forbidden from, and indeed, they are liars.”
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
38. 1. Here, mentioning this may also have the purpose that you are wishing to return to the world and claiming that now, instead of disobedience, you will choose obedience, and instead of shirk, you will choose tawheed. But We know that you will not do so. If you are sent back to the world again, you will do the same things you did before, just as Allah has said at another place: "If they were sent back to the world, they would do the same deeds from which they were forbidden." 38. 2. This is the evidence for the previous statement. That is, why would Allah Almighty not have knowledge of the hidden matters of the heavens and the earth, when He is also aware of what is in the hearts and the secrets, which are the most hidden things.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
38. Surely Allah is the Knower of the unseen things of the heavens and the earth. He knows well even the secrets [42] of the hearts.
[42] That is, He knows very well about those inhabitants of Hell who are crying out for help, that even now they are uttering lies. Their very nature is such that even if they were sent back to the world, they would never refrain from their wickedness and mischief, as stated in Surah Al-An'am: ﴿وَلَوْرُدُّوْالَعَادُوْالِمَانهُوْاعَنْهُوَإنَّهُمْلَكَاذِبُوْنَ﴾[6: 28]
