And Allâh did create you (Adam) from dust, then from Nutfah (male and female discharge semen drops i.e. Adam’s offspring), then He made you pairs (male and female). And no female conceives or gives birth but with His Knowledge. And no aged man is granted a length of life nor is a part cut off from his life (or another man’s life), but is in a Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz ) Surely, that is easy for Allâh.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 11) ➊ {وَ اللّٰهُ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ تُرَابٍ …:} Before this, the revival of the earth through rain was presented as evidence for life after death. Now, in this verse, three proofs for life after death are presented, all of which are rational. The first is that man, being created from dust, passes through various stages and finally rests in the lap of death, as He said: « يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ فِيْ رَيْبٍ مِّنَ الْبَعْثِ فَاِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَّ غَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَ نُقِرُّ فِي الْاَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ اِلٰۤى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوْۤا اَشُدَّكُمْ وَ مِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يُّتَوَفّٰى وَ مِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يُّرَدُّ اِلٰۤى اَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا » [ الحج : ۵ ] "O people! If you are in doubt about being raised up, then surely We created you from humble dust, then from a drop, then from a clot of blood, then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed, so that We may make clear to you. And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you forth as infants, then so that you may reach your maturity. And among you is he who is taken away, and among you is he who is returned to the most abject age, so that after knowing, he knows nothing." That is, the Allah who created man from dust the first time can also create him again after he becomes dust.
{ وَ مَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ اُنْثٰى وَ لَا تَضَعُ اِلَّا بِعِلْمِهٖ :} That is, all the stages from conception to birth of any female are in the knowledge of that Being, and are accomplished by His perfect power. So, what difficulty is there for Him to recreate this human after death? For a similar verse, see Surah Al-Hajj, Ayah (8).
{وَ مَا يُعَمَّرُ مِنْ مُّعَمَّرٍ … :} This is the third proof of resurrection after death, that is, whether someone is given a longer life or a shorter life, all of this is recorded in a Book, and Allah Almighty has already decreed it. So, the Being who has already written the lifespan of every long-lived and short-lived person, and who is aware of every moment of each person's life, what difficulty can there be for Him to recreate them?
➍ That is, although it is impossible for you and for all creation to know these matters beforehand or to decide them, for Allah Almighty this is absolutely easy, because He already knows all these things and has always been fully capable of doing all this.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

11. 1 That is, He created your father Adam from clay, and then, in order to continue your progeny, He made the creation of man dependent on a drop of fluid which comes out from the loins of a man and enters the womb of a woman.

11. 2 That is, nothing is hidden from Him, not even a leaf that falls to the ground, nor a seed that grows in the darkness of the earth.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Allah created you from dust, then from a drop of fluid, then He made you into pairs [17]. No female conceives or gives birth except with His knowledge. And no aged person is granted a long life, nor is anything lessened from his life, but it is all in a Book. For Allah, this is easy.

The Changes That Occur to the Embryo and Allah Almighty’s Individual Attention:

That is, Allah Almighty made a figure of Adam from a few elements of clay. Then He breathed into it a spirit from Himself, so these elements of clay transformed into flesh, bones, and muscles. And not only this, but many of attributes from Allah were also reflected in him—he began to speak, to see and hear, to understand; intellect was created in him, comprehension and reflection were produced, and the faculty of deduction was granted. Then, the progeny that followed came from his sperm. What was this sperm? It was also something obtained from the lifeless elements of clay. And in this insignificant drop, many characteristics of the human from whom it came were transferred. Then from this very sperm, Allah turned the human species into two types: male and female. In short, how far can one go in mentioning the wonders of Allah? An even more astonishing thing is that in the mother’s womb, Allah Almighty directs individual attention to every child that is born. Allah alone knows what changes occur in the mother’s womb, of which even the mother herself is unaware, in whose belly this embryo is. Then, during this period, the lifespan of every newborn is also determined—at what age he will die, how much sustenance he will receive, and what his end will be. In other words, this verse sheds light on Allah Almighty’s creatorship, His unlimited and complete control over everything.
