Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 44) {وَ مَاۤ اٰتَيْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ كُتُبٍ يَّدْرُسُوْنَهَا۠ … :} This verse can be interpreted in two ways: one is that We did not give them any book containing permission for their polytheistic statements and actions, which they have with them and read and teach, nor did We send before you any warner to them who would support their polytheistic statements and actions. See Surah Ar-Rum (35), Fatir (40), Az-Zukhruf (21), and Surah Al-Ahqaf (4). The second interpretation is that no special books were revealed from Us specifically for them, nor did any warner come to them before you, so it was necessary that a book be revealed to them and a prophet be sent to them; that is why We have sent you to them with this Quran. See Surah As-Sajda (3).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

44. 1. Therefore, they used to wish that a messenger would come to them as well and a heavenly scripture be revealed, but when these things came, they denied them.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Yet We did not give them (the disbelievers of Makkah) any books which they could read [68], nor did We send to them any warner before you.

[68] That is, neither did any prophet come to them, nor was any book of Allah revealed to them that would teach or at least support the idea that the ancestral and polytheistic religion they are following is the true religion. In other words, they have no proof for the truth of their religion. These people are simply content with the fact that this is their ancestral religion. They have neither any argument to deny you, nor any evidence to prove the correctness of their polytheistic beliefs.
