Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 71) ➊ { يُّصْلِحْ لَكُمْ اَعْمَالَكُمْ وَ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوْبَكُمْ :} Two benefits of fearing Allah and speaking straightforward and clear words have been mentioned: one is that Allah will set your deeds right, and the other is that He will cover your sins. Generally, people tell lies and act cunningly and cleverly to fix spoiled matters. Because of their twists and false statements, the listeners become even more agitated and suspicious, as a result of which the matters get even worse and are never resolved. But when a person fears Allah and speaks straightforwardly and clearly, then Allah has promised that all matters will be set right and past sins will also be forgiven. Because straightforward speech removes malice from hearts and becomes a cause for mutual reconciliation, and when one becomes upright, Allah also forgives.
➋ The sermon that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught to be recited at the time of marriage and other needs, he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite four verses in it, two of which are these. Because fearing Allah and speaking straightforwardly is necessary in every matter, especially in the case of husband and wife, its need is even greater, because there is no witness to their matters, only the fear of Allah and straightforward speech can keep their matters right, and even a little cunning and falsehood can destroy mutual trust and ruin the home.
{وَ مَنْ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَ رَسُوْلَهٗ … :} Because the real success is attaining Paradise and being saved from Hell, which can only be achieved through obedience to Allah and His Messenger. See Surah An-Nisa (13, 14) and Aal-e-Imran (185).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

71. 1 This is the result of taqwa and truthful speech: your deeds will be corrected, and you will be granted further divine guidance, and if there remains any shortcoming or deficiency, then Allah will forgive it.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Thus) Allah will set right your deeds [109] for you and forgive your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly achieved a great success.

The Benefits of Truthfulness:

In these two verses, Allah Almighty has stated a golden principle for a successful life in both religion and the world, which encompasses a person's entire life, and that principle is: speak straightforwardly and clearly, in which there is no falsehood. There should be no twisting or deceit, nor any partiality towards anyone. Say only as much as is necessary, do not add embellishments, and do not make any additions or omissions from yourself. This is also called truthfulness. Sometimes, truthfulness may cause harm to oneself, to one's relatives, or to one's friends and companions. Endure all of this, but do not let go of truthfulness, because its results are very beneficial and far-reaching. It establishes a person's dignity, brings honor, and builds credibility, and from this credibility, a person gains countless benefits. These are the worldly benefits, and the spiritual benefits are that a person's deeds automatically become correct. Once, a person came to the service of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I acknowledge the two declarations of faith, but I do not find the courage within myself to accept Islam, because I have such-and-such flaw, and such-and-such flaw, and such-and-such flaw." The Prophet ﷺ said to him: "Will you promise me to give up lying?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Your Islam is accepted." Thus, whenever he was about to commit a fault, he would think that such-and-such person or the Messenger of Allah might ask me, or on the Day of Judgment Allah will ask me, and now I cannot lie, so what will happen? With this thought, he would refrain from that flaw. Gradually, all his deeds became correct. This was only about giving up lying, whereas "qawl sadeed" (upright speech) is a much higher moral value than merely abandoning falsehood. Then why would a person's deeds not become correct through it? And when his deeds become correct, Allah Almighty Himself, as promised, will forgive his past sins, and all of this is possible only when he fears Allah and is obedient to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. And such a person's life in the Hereafter will, in any case, be a very successful life.
