Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 61){ مَلْعُوْنِيْنَاَيْنَمَاثُقِفُوْۤااُخِذُوْاوَقُتِّلُوْاتَقْتِيْلًا :} That is, such people are accursed; wherever they are found, they should be seized and cut into pieces. It should be clear that the rulings mentioned in these verses are not temporary or provisional, but like other commands of the Noble Qur’an, they are valid until the Day of Judgment. Even now, it is obligatory upon the government to deal with such people in this manner: those who abduct girls from crowded markets, those who abduct boys and commit the act of the people of Lot with them, those adulterous men and women who, in front of the whole society, live together without marriage and openly challenge the limits set by Allah—their treatment is that they should be seized and cut into pieces, so that no one dares to do such a thing again. Abduction and such other matters are not simple cases of fornication; rather, besides fornication, they also fall under the category of spreading corruption in the land, for which the punishment is the elimination of such people. Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: [ لَقِيْتُعَمِّيْوَمَعَهُرَايَةٌفَقُلْتُلَهُأَيْنَتُرِيْدُ؟قَالَبَعَثَنِيْرَسُوْلُاللّٰهِصَلَّیاللّٰهُعَلَيْهِوَسَلَّمَإِلٰیرَجُلٍنَكَحَامْرَأَةَأَبِيْهِفَأَمَرَنِيْأَنْأَضْرِبَعُنُقَهُوَآخُذَمَالَهُ ][أبو داوٗد، الحدود، باب في الرجل یزني بحریمہ : ۴۴۵۷، و قال الألباني صحیح ] “I met my uncle, and he had a flag with him. I asked him, ‘Where are you intending to go?’ He said, ‘The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has sent me to a man who has married his father’s wife, so that I may strike his neck and seize his wealth.’” See also Surah Al-Ma’idah (33).

61. 1. This is not a command to seize and kill them, but rather a curse that if they do not desist from their hypocrisy and actions, they will have a most exemplary end. Some say that it is a command. However, these hypocrites refrained from their actions after the revelation of the verse, so the action against them that was commanded in this verse was not carried out (Fath al-Qadeer).
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 61. They are accursed; wherever they are found, they shall be seized and killed mercilessly [102].
[102] This refers to the fate of Banu Qurayzah. The chief of Banu Nadir, Huyayy ibn Akhtab, was also killed along with them; he was the one who had compelled Banu Qurayzah to break their covenant.
