Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 46) ➊ { وَ دَاعِيًا اِلَى اللّٰهِ :} That is, you are the one who invites people towards the oneness of Allah and obedience to His commands, and this invitation is not from yourself but Allah has appointed you to this task. Now, whoever opposes this, he is not opposing you but the One who has appointed you.

{ وَ سِرَاجًا مُّنِيْرًا :} In the Quran, the sun has been called "Siraj" in two places, as after mentioning the creation of the heavens one above another, it is said: «{ وَ جَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيْهِنَّ نُوْرًا وَّ جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا [ نوح : ۱۶ ] "And He made the moon a light therein and made the sun a lamp." And in another place it is said: «{ وَ جَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَّهَّاجًا [ النبا : ۱۳ ] "And We made a very bright, hot lamp." Here, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is called "Siraj Munir" because Allah made you (peace be upon him) the means to bring people out from the darkness of disbelief and polytheism to the light of faith, just as the sun is made the means to remove the darkness of night and bring light. One reason for calling you "Siraj Munir" is that despite the moon's light in the darkness of night, there still remains a need to light fire or torches for illumination, but when the shining sun rises, there remains no need for any lamp. Similarly, after the coming of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), neither does following any prophet remain, nor is there any room for the taqlid (imitative following) of any imam, elder, or spiritual guide when the Quran and Hadith are present.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

46. 1. Just as darkness is dispelled by a lamp, in the same way, through you ﷺ, the darkness of disbelief and polytheism will be removed. Furthermore, whoever wishes to attain perfection and felicity by acquiring light from this lamp, can do so. This is because this lamp will remain illuminated until the Day of Judgment.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

46. And as one who invites to Allah by His permission, and as a shining [74] lamp.

[74] In this material world or universe, Allah Almighty has called the sun "Siraj" (lamp) [سورة نوح : 16], probably because the moon and stars receive their light indirectly from this sun. And in the spiritual world, Allah Almighty has bestowed upon you ﷺ the title of "Siraj Munir" (radiant lamp). In other words, you ﷺ are the sun of prophethood; after your rising, there is no longer any need for another source of light. Now every person must seek guidance for every aspect of life from this sun of prophethood and guidance.
