Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 25) ➊ { وَ رَدَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوْا خَيْرًا :} In these verses, the outcome of the Battle of Ahzab is described: the disbelievers, who had come with the intention of erasing the name and sign of Islam and the Muslims, did not achieve any success in their aim. They could neither wipe out the Muslims, nor conquer Madinah, nor obtain any spoils of war or captives. Allah Almighty sent them back filled with burning in their hearts and anger, without having gained any benefit.

{ وَ كَفَى اللّٰهُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ الْقِتَالَ:} That is, the Muslims did not even need to fight. Allah Almighty took the battle upon Himself and, with the armies of wind and angels, drove away the armies of the disbelievers. For details, see the commentary of verse (9) of this Surah.

{وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيْزًا :} Since the fleeing of the disbelievers despite such numbers and preparation was beyond reason and an extremely astonishing event, it is stated that Allah Almighty has always been exceedingly powerful and dominant over all; for Him, this is not difficult at all.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

25-1 That is, the polytheists who had gathered from different directions to wipe out the Muslims. Allah sent them back along with His wrath and anger. They did not get any worldly wealth or possessions, nor will they be deserving of any reward in the Hereafter; they did not attain any kind of good.

25-2 That is, the Muslims did not even need to fight them, rather Allah provided help to His believing servants through wind and angels. That is why the Prophet ﷺ said (Sahih Bukhari) "There is no deity except Allah alone, He fulfilled His promise, helped His servant, granted victory to His army, and He alone defeated all the groups, and there is nothing after Him." This supplication should be recited upon returning from Hajj, Umrah, Jihad, and travel.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

25. And Allah sent back the disbelievers (and their armies) with rage in their hearts, having gained no good. And Allah was sufficient for the believers in battle. And Allah is indeed All-Powerful, All-Mighty [35].

[34]
The Ransom for the Corpse of ‘Abd Wudd:

That is, the army of the confederates, writhing in humiliation, failure, and anger, was forced to leave the battlefield empty-handed and retreat, leaving behind much of their equipment for the Muslims. In this very battle, ‘Amr bin ‘Abd Wudd, who was considered equal to a thousand horsemen, challenged the Muslims to single combat, and Sayyiduna ‘Aliؓ stepped forward to face him and finished him off. The polytheists requested that his corpse be handed over to them in exchange for ten thousand dirhams. The Prophet ﷺ said to them: Take the corpse for free; we do not take payment for the dead.

[35] How Did Huyayy bin Akhtab Persuade Banu Qurayzah to Break Their Covenant? Allah Almighty did not even allow a general battle to take place and sent a freezing wind and angels to lift their siege. He created discord among the Jews and the confederates. As a result of all these things, the enemy, in great panic, fled. Who can stand before the mighty power of Allah?
