And if We send a wind [which would spoil the green growth (tilth) brought up by the previous rain], and they see (their tilth) turn yellow - behold, they then (after their being glad,) would become unthankful (to their Lord Allâh as) disbelievers. [Tafsir At-Tabari]

(Ayah 51) {وَلَىِٕنْاَرْسَلْنَارِيْحًا … :} That is, if We send a harsh cold or hot wind, by which their crops turn yellow, then they begin to show ingratitude and even deny the previous blessing. In this, the condition of the disbeliever and the worldly Muslim is described: when Allah’s mercy descends upon him, he becomes very happy at that time, but still does not offer thanks to Allah. And when any blessing is taken away, then he does remember Allah, but not for patience and gratitude; rather, to aim words of disbelief and ingratitude [at Him]. He was not at all ready to acknowledge Allah’s favor upon receiving the blessing, and upon the loss of the blessing, he became even more estranged and began to curse Allah, saying what kind of calamity He has put upon us.

51-1. That is, the same fields which We made lush through rain, if We send harsh (hot or cold) winds and turn their greenery into yellowness, that is, destroy the ready crop, then these very people who were rejoicing over the rain will fall into ungratefulness towards Allah. The meaning is that those who do not believe in Allah are also deprived of patience and endurance. At the slightest thing, they are overjoyed, and at the slightest trial, they immediately become hopeless and start lamenting. The condition of the believers is different from them in both situations, as has already been detailed.

And if We send a wind and they see their crops turn yellow because of it, then after that they would become ungrateful [57].
[57] The Attitude of a Worldly Person Towards Blessing and Its Loss:
Then, after that, when the season of autumn comes and the plants begin to wither, man once again becomes despondent and starts uttering words of disbelief and making complaints against Allah. In these verses, in fact, the nature of a worldly and God-forgetting person is described: when Allah’s mercy descends upon such a worldly person, he becomes happy at that time, but still does not express gratitude to Allah. And when the time comes for the blessing to be taken away, then he remembers Allah, but not for the sake of gratitude; rather, to make Him the target of words of disbelief and ingratitude. He was never ready to acknowledge Allah’s favor when he received the blessing. Upon the loss of the blessing, he became even more averse and began to curse Allah, saying what kind of calamity He has put upon us. In these verses, there is also a subtle indication: that when Allah’s Messenger brings a message of mercy from Him, people do not accept his words and reject this blessing. Then, as a consequence of their disbelief, when Allah imposes oppressors and tyrants upon them, and they inflict oppression and cruelty, those very people begin to curse Allah and accuse Him of having created a world full of injustice and tyranny.
