Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
So set you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) your face (in obedience to Allâh, your Lord) to the straight and right religion (Islâmic Monotheism), before there comes from Allâh a Day which none can avert. On that Day men shall be divided [(in two groups), a group in Paradise and a group in Hell].

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 43) ➊ {فَاَقِمْوَجْهَكَلِلدِّيْنِالْقَيِّمِ :} That is, when corruption has spread on land and sea due to shirk, then O addressed one! Turn your face straight towards that religion which is absolutely straight and established upon the natural disposition of Tawheed.
➋ {مِنْقَبْلِاَنْيَّاْتِيَيَوْمٌلَّامَرَدَّلَهٗمِنَاللّٰهِ : ’’ مَرَدَّ ‘‘ ’’رَدَّيَرُدُّ‘‘} is a verbal noun (masdar mimi), meaning to remove, to turn away. That is, before that day comes, turn your direction straight towards the upright religion whose occurrence Allah Almighty has decreed, and there is no way for it to be averted from Allah, so how can anyone else avert it?
➌ {يَوْمَىِٕذٍيَّصَّدَّعُوْنَ : ’’ يَصَّدَّعُوْنَ ‘‘} is originally {’’يَتَصَدَّعُوْنَ‘‘}, meaning "they will be split apart," that is, on the Day of Resurrection, Muslims and disbelievers will be separated all at once just as something splits and becomes separate. It will not happen that any disbeliever remains among the Muslims or any Muslim among the disbelievers. Allah said: «{ فَرِيْقٌفِيالْجَنَّةِوَفَرِيْقٌفِيالسَّعِيْرِ }»[ الشورٰی : ۷ ] "One group will be in Paradise and one group in the blazing Fire."
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
43-1. That is, no one can prevent the coming of that Day. Therefore, before the coming of that Day (of Resurrection), adopt the path of obedience to Allah and fill your record with good deeds.
43-2. That is, people will be divided into two groups: one of the believers and the other of the disbelievers.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
43. So (O Prophet!) set your face firmly towards the upright and true religion [50], before there comes a Day from Allah that cannot be averted [51]. On that Day, people will be separated [52].
[50] Therefore, O Prophet! And O Muslims! Turn away from all these absurdities of the polytheists and turn towards the religion of nature. Because the root of all kinds of evils and corruption is this very shirk. And its remedy is only that you focus all your attention towards Allah and place your trust in Him alone.
[51] That is, just as death is an inevitable reality and no one can avert it from himself, nor can its time be advanced or delayed, in the same way, the Day of Resurrection is also an inevitable reality which cannot be averted by anyone, nor can anyone avert it from himself, nor is any advancement or delay possible in it. And the connection between these two realities is that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said that whoever dies, his Resurrection has been established on that very day. [مشكوة كتاب الفتن۔ باب فى قرب الساعة وان من مات فقد قامت قيامة] In other words, the meaning of this verse is that before your death, completely renounce polytheistic beliefs and turn towards the religion of nature.
[52] That is, no disbeliever will have the ability to join the group of Muslims, or if he has joined before, he will not remain there; rather, all people will be compelled to immediately join the group to which they belong. And this will happen with such speed as if a gathered crowd suddenly splits into many parts.
