Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 48) {وَ يُعَلِّمُهُ الْكِتٰبَ:} ‘Isa (peace be upon him) knew the Torah and every book without having read them, and all these were miracles. (Muwaddih) Some commentators have interpreted {”الْكِتٰبَ“} to mean writing.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

48. 1. By "کتاب" is meant writing, as has been adopted in the translation, or it is some book other than the Gospel and the Torah, the knowledge of which Allah has given them (Qurtubi), or it is the interpretation of the Torah and the Gospel (الکتاب وحکمۃ).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

48. "And Allah will teach him (Jesus son of Mary) the Book and wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel [48], and He will make him a messenger to the Children of Israel."

The Memory and Understanding of Sayyiduna Isa:

Allah Almighty granted Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) an extraordinary memory. In addition, he was also a calligrapher and used to write the Torah by hand. He had such mastery over the Torah that when the Jewish scholars (the jurists and Pharisees) argued with him about any matter, he would convince them and silence them by quoting the Torah from memory, and the jurists and Pharisees would be astonished and amazed at the perfection of his memory.

The Accusation of the Jews Against Lady Maryam and Zakariya:
He was granted prophethood at the age of thirty. After that, he traveled continuously for three years and remained engaged in the preaching and propagation of the religion, and probably for this reason he began to be called "Masih." He made tireless efforts to reform the corrupted nation of the Jews. He reminded them of the commandments of the Torah and taught them anew. He pointed out their mistakes and misunderstandings. He recited and taught the commandments of the Gospel. But the condition of this corrupted nation did not improve. On the contrary, they became enemies of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him), and accused Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) of adultery with Lady Maryam (peace be upon her), and eventually killed Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) for this reason. After Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him), when Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) affirmed Prophet Isa (peace be upon him), he too was killed through the intervention of the government. After the killing of these two prophets, the Jews became hostile to Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) and became his enemies. Finally, at the age of thirty-three, the Jewish scholars put him on trial and, through the intervention of the government, tried to crucify him, but Allah Almighty raised him alive, body and soul, to the heavens.
