Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3) — Ayah 29

قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿29﴾
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Whether you hide what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allâh knows it, and He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. And Allâh is Able to do all things."
قُلْ qul Say
إِن in Whether
تُخْفُوا۟ tukh'fū you conceal
مَا what
فِى (is) in
صُدُورِكُمْ ṣudūrikum your breasts
أَوْ aw or
تُبْدُوهُ tub'dūhu you disclose it
يَعْلَمْهُ yaʿlamhu knows it
ٱللَّهُ ۗ l-lahu Allah
وَيَعْلَمُ wayaʿlamu And He knows
مَا what
فِى (is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens
وَمَا wamā and what
فِى (is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ l-arḍi the earth
وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah
عَلَىٰ ʿalā (is) on
كُلِّ kulli every
شَىْءٍۢ shayin thing
قَدِيرٌۭ qadīrun All-Powerful

29. Say: Whether you conceal what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it well [31]. And He knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And Allah is powerful over all things.

[31] This verse is actually an explanation of the previous verse. That is, O Muslims! If you give place in your hearts to the love of disbelief or behave with affection towards the disbelievers, then these inner and outer actions of yours cannot remain hidden from Allah. Therefore, benefit from the concession given by Allah only to the extent that there appears to be no other way out. Otherwise, remember that Allah is All-Powerful. He can punish you in this world and humiliate and disgrace you, and you will not be able to escape the punishment of the Hereafter either.
