Four Ways of Divine Help for Muslims in the Battle of Badr:
The glad tidings of the descent of angels that Allah gave you on the field of Badr was only so that your hearts would be strengthened and you would enter the battlefield with full confidence and resolve. And is help dependent only on the angels? Whatever form help takes, it is only from Allah. Thus, in the field of Badr, Allah helped the Muslims in four ways. For example:
(1) Allah turned the direction of the wind towards the army of the disbelievers, and the sand, blowing, made their army miserable.
(2) The descent of rain, due to which the encampment of the disbelievers became slippery and muddy, while in the Muslims’ camp, the sand settled firmly. Also, they obtained abundant water for use.
(3) The descent of angels. Thus, Ibn Abbasؓ says that on the day of Badr, you said: “This is Jibreel who has arrived, holding the head of his horse, equipped with the weapons of war.”

Also, Rifaaؓ says that once Jibreel came to the Messenger of Allahﷺ and said: “How do you regard the people of Badr?” Youﷺ replied: “The best of all Muslims,” or said something similar. Jibreelؑ said: “In the same way, the angels who were present at the Battle of Badr are superior to the other angels.” [بخاري۔ حواله ايضاً]
(4) The fourth way of helping the Muslims was that the disbelievers began to see the number of Muslim fighters as double their actual number.
