Say (to them O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Sufficient is Allâh for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth." And those who believe in Bâtil (all false deities other than Allâh), and disbelieve in Allâh and (in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 52) ➊ {قُلْ كَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيْدًا:} This is another answer to the disbelievers denying you, as He said: «{ وَ يَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا قُلْ كَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ شَهِيْدًۢا بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَ مَنْ عِنْدَهٗ عِلْمُ الْكِتٰبِ [ الرعد : ۴۳ ] "And those who disbelieve say, 'You are not a Messenger.' Say, 'Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and [so is] he who has knowledge of the Book.'" That is, if you deny me, then Allah is a witness between me and you, and His testimony is sufficient. He knows well your denial and rebellion, and my truthfulness and goodwill. If I were to fabricate a lie against Him, He would surely take revenge on me, because He does not leave such people without retribution, as He Himself says: «{ وَ لَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْاَقَاوِيْل (44) لَاَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِيْنِ (45) ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِيْنَ (46) فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِّنْ اَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حٰجِزِيْنَ [ الحاقۃ : ۴۴ تا ۴۷ ] "And if he had made up about Us some [false] sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand; then We would have cut from him the aorta, and none of you could have prevented [Us] from him." Since my truthfulness is clear to Him, that I am His messenger and I convey to you what He has said in His name, therefore He is supporting me and granting me dominance day by day, and He continues to support me with clear miracles and decisive proofs. (Ibn Kathir)

{يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ:} That is, nothing is hidden from Him, neither my conveying the message of Prophethood nor your denial. He will judge on the Day of Resurrection according to His knowledge.

{وَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا بِالْبَاطِلِ … :} Those who believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allah, they are the real losers, because they abandoned the truth and adopted falsehood. Then what loss could be greater than this? On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will recompense them for this.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

52-1. Upon the fact that I am Allah's Prophet and the book that has been revealed to me is certainly from Allah.

52-2. That is, they declare others besides Allah as worthy of worship, and the One who is truly worthy of worship, that is, Allah Ta'ala, they deny Him.

52-3. Because these are the people who are afflicted with intellectual corruption and misunderstanding, that is why they have made the bargain of purchasing disbelief in exchange for the believers and misguidance in exchange for guidance; in this, they are the ones who incur loss.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

52. Say, “Allah is sufficient as a witness between me and you. He knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth. And those who believe in falsehood and disbelieve in Allah—it is they who are the losers.” [84]

[84] The disbelievers of Makkah acknowledged the existence of Allah and His attributes as the Creator and Owner. Therefore, it was said to them: Say to them, if I am claiming prophethood and fabricating a lie against Him, then it should have been that He destroyed me, but in reality, He is increasing me and my companions day by day. Then He has also given me a miracle, which you are unable to answer. So, is Allah’s testimony regarding my prophethood not sufficient? Yes, if a person has resolved never to accept the truth, that is another matter, and this is the greatest misfortune and most harmful thing for a person.
