Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Nay, but they, the clear Ayât [i.e. the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم written in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (among the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers) deny Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 49) ➊ { بَلْهُوَاٰيٰتٌۢبَيِّنٰتٌفِيْصُدُوْرِالَّذِيْنَاُوْتُواالْعِلْمَ:} That is, this Quran is not a book composed by reading previous scriptures, rather it is a book revealed by Allah Almighty. It has two prominent qualities: first, that these are clear verses, meaning such manifest miracles that no one has ever been able to answer them, nor will anyone ever be able to, as He said: «{ وَاِنْكُنْتُمْفِيْرَيْبٍمِّمَّانَزَّلْنَاعَلٰىعَبْدِنَافَاْتُوْابِسُوْرَةٍمِّنْمِّثْلِهٖوَادْعُوْاشُهَدَآءَكُمْمِّنْدُوْنِاللّٰهِاِنْكُنْتُمْصٰدِقِيْنَ }»[ البقرۃ : ۲۳ ] "And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant, then produce a surah like it and call upon your supporters other than Allah, if you should be truthful." The second quality is that all previous books were written in some form and were preserved only by writing, whereas this Quran is preserved in the hearts of the people of knowledge. Although it has also been written, it is not dependent on the written form, and this is a unique feature of the Noble Quran that the one who brought it is unlettered, who does not read from written texts, rather this book is in his heart, and in every era, it is preserved in the hearts of millions of memorizers of the Muslim Ummah; no one can alter any word, dot, or diacritical mark of it. Even if all its copies were to disappear from the world, its preservation would not be affected. Whereas all previous books depended on written copies, and except for the prophet or one or two individuals, there is no evidence of anyone having memorized them. Therefore, additions, omissions, distortions, and alterations were possible in them and did in fact occur, as the compiled manuscripts in the Bible are clear evidence of this: Why should Islam not be distinguished among all the religions of the world? There, religion is in books; here, the Quran is in hearts. ➋ {وَمَايَجْحَدُبِاٰيٰتِنَاۤاِلَّاالظّٰلِمُوْنَ:} That is, after seeing such clear signs and knowing their truth, only those will deny them who are unjust and are not willing to accept the Quran or give the rightful one his due.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
49-1 That is, the Quran is in the hearts of the memorizers. This is a miracle of the Quran that the Quran is preserved word for word in the heart.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
49. Rather, it (the Qur’an) is clear verses [81] preserved in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge. And none deny Our signs except the wrongdoers.
[81] Besides the Quran, your own person was also a collection of many clear miracles:
This verse has two meanings. If the pronoun "Huwa" is referred back to the Quran, then its meaning will be that the verses of the Quran consist of very clear proofs. And these verses are preserved in the hearts of the people of knowledge, meaning that the people of knowledge have memorized these verses by heart. And in this way, the Quran will continue to be transmitted from heart to heart among the people of knowledge. And this is such an undeniable attribute of the Quran that from the beginning of Islam until today, and in the future until the Day of Judgment, every person can and will continue to witness it. In every era, there has been a large number of Muslims who are memorizers of the Quran. And this is the miraculous status of the Quran and the greatest means of its preservation. The second means of preserving the Quran is the writing of the Quran. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid relatively more attention to the first means of preservation, which is memorization. (Most commentators have preferred this interpretation.) Now, if you look at other revealed books in comparison to the Quran, you will rarely find anyone who has memorized them, as it is narrated about Hazrat Uzair ؑ that he was a memorizer of the Torah. And the second meaning is that the pronoun "Huwa" is referred back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and this interpretation is preferable in the sense that the context of the subject demands it. In this sense, its meaning will be that for the people of knowledge and wisdom, there are not just one but many signs in proof of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ's prophethood. In this way, for all the renowned personalities who have passed in the world, the factors that shaped their personalities can be traced from history, but here this matter is completely absent. For example, all the opponents of Islam, that is, the Quraysh of Makkah, knew that you did not even know how to read or write. To be familiar with Arabic literature or the history of nations was out of the question. But the discourse you presented, despite repeated challenges, the eloquent and articulate of all Arabia were unable to produce anything like it. Another example is that you were completely untrained in the art of war and combat. Nor were you born in the house of a general or a soldier, not even in the house of a common soldier, but when you took command of the army in the field of jihad, you ﷺ adopted such military strategies that you left behind all the generals of the worlds. In short, every aspect of your ﷺ life is a collection of such astonishing excellences, the causes and factors of which, when searched for, are nowhere to be found. These are the clear signs which are the manifest proof of your prophethood. And only a staunch bigot can deny them, whereas the people of knowledge wholeheartedly acknowledge these qualities of yours.
