Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 22) ➊ { وَ مَاۤ اَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِيْنَ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ لَا فِي السَّمَآءِ :} Here, the question could arise that if a person is not under Allah’s control, then how will He bring him before Himself? Therefore, it is said: Go to any corner of the earth or to any edge of the sky, you can never render Allah incapable of seizing you. The same thing is stated in Surah Ar-Rahman: «{ يٰمَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْاِنْسِ اِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ اَنْ تَنْفُذُوْا مِنْ اَقْطَارِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوْا لَا تَنْفُذُوْنَ اِلَّا بِسُلْطٰنٍ [ الرحمٰن : ۳۳ ] “O assembly of jinn and mankind! If you have the power to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority.”
{ وَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ وَّلِيٍّ وَّ لَا نَصِيْرٍ:} The meaning is that neither are you yourself so powerful that you could escape Allah’s grasp by running away somewhere, nor do you have any protectors or helpers who could save you from His grasp.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The exegesis of this verse has been done along with the previous verse.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

22. You cannot frustrate Him either on earth or in the sky, and besides Allah, you have no protector or helper [34].

[34] That is, you do not have enough power to go beyond the boundaries of the earth, nor do you have the strength to reach the heavens. This is probably stated because man cannot live anywhere except on this earth, as all his nutritional and physical needs are dependent on this earth, except if he arranges something temporarily for a few days. And when Allah’s grasp comes, neither do you have the strength to escape His grasp, nor is there any other being powerful enough to grant you refuge from His punishment or to prevent His punishment.
